Multan Sultans got off to a decent start with Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Khan opening up impressively with a 41-run partnership from 3.3 overs. However, Rizwan also got out, caught by David Wiese and bowled by Rashid Khan. It was an absolutely fantastic catch by the well-experienced South African player, and Rizwan’s innings ended after scoring 34 runs. With this score, he became the highest run-scorer of HBL PSL 8.

Abbas Afridi then pushed the accelerator in the second last over and put Multan Sultans in a match-winning position with back-to-back boundaries, despite not being known for his batting expertise. Khushdil Shah also tried to take the win, but Lahore Qalandars’ Zaman Khan perfectly defended the target.
