PSL 2023: Quetta Gladiators failed to deliver again in their match against Peshawar Zalmi in match 09. On Feb 20, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to bowl first. Quetta Gladiators’ batting performance was not good enough as they only gave a 155 runs target to Peshawar Zalmi. Additionally, these runs were not enough for Quetta Gladiators’ bowlers to defend. As a result, Peshawar Zalmi won their second match of PSL 8.

In addition, the complications were all there. Because the pitch was new and the due factor had its effect. So, Babar’s decision to bowl first turned out to be very good for them as they used the advantages of the new pitch. The bowl was skidding and it was hard for the batsmen to hit.

In contrast to Quetta Gladiators’ batting, the bowling was quite impressive. But due to the due effect and pitch conditions, there was not enough score to defend. Naseem Shah and Mohammad Husnain bowled superbly with an economy of 4.75 and 3.25 from four over. Husnain got to dismiss the dangerous batsmen of Zalmi including Saim Ayub, Kohler-Cadmore, and Mohammad Haris.

Qais Ahmed also played well but as mentioned earlier ” Played well but not enough”. However, he did take the wicket of Jimmy Neesham who was playing aggressively at that time. Except for Nawaz’s wicket-taking delivery to Babar Azam, he failed to defend the score. Odean Smith’s bowling performance was also not good as he took 27 runs from 12 balls only.

Nawaz’s bowling is the one in question as he always takes the score and fails to make it up during batting. It is an alarming situation for Quetta Gladiators to set up their team properly. As the major problem is with their batting performance. Furthermore, their batting and bowling need to coordinate well against their opponent. Consequently, in PSL 2023: Quetta Gladiators failed to deliver again as they had already lost one match to Multan Sultans.

In the PSL 2023 season, Quetta Gladiators once again fell short of expectations, failing to deliver the desired results. Despite their potential, their performance lacked consistency and determination. Requiring a comprehensive reevaluation, the team must address its shortcomings to regain its competitive edge in future tournaments.
