
PSL 2023: Quetta Gladiators failed to deliver again in their match against Peshawar Zalmi in match 09. On Feb 20, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to bowl first. Quetta Gladiators’ batting performance was not good enough as they only gave a 155 runs target to Peshawar Zalmi. Additionally, these runs were not enough for Quetta Gladiators’ bowlers to defend. As a result, Peshawar Zalmi won their second match of PSL 8.

As the major problem is with their batting performance. Furthermore, their batting and bowling need to coordinate well against their opponent. Similarly, Peshawar Zalmi’s batting started well with Mohammad Haris and Babar Azam. But Haris also got out after scoring only 18 runs. Babar also played a brief inning of 19 runs from 18 balls only. Afterward, there were some early wickets like the wickets of Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Saim Ayub.
Later on, after their dismissals, Jimmy Neesham and Rovman Powell made a good partnership and gave strength to Peshawar Zalmi. Dasun Shanaka who is a replacement for Shakib Ul Hasan played a good inning with Wahab Riaz at the end. And Wahab Riaz concluded the match at 18.3 overs with a short boundary. Hence, taking the second victory for Peshawar Zalmi out of three matches in PSL 8.

Peshawar Zalmi’s bowling was spot-on. Moreover, Usman Qadir, Wahab Riaz, and Jimmy Neesham bowled really well. Usman Qadir got to take two wickets of Jason Roy and Mohammad Nawaz by his spin-bowl spell. Wahab Riaz had a good economy of 6.25 with 25 runs off 4 overs. However, Wahab did not have the luck to take a wicket today.

Despite their potential, their performance lacked consistency and determination.
