
PSL 2023: Lahore Qalandars secure another victory against Multan Sultans in a thrilling match. Multan Sultans was not able to chase down a 181-run target given by Lahore Qalandars. They defended the target skillfully and took the win for themselves in match 20 of the PSL 2023.

They ran out of balls as they only made 157 runs in 20 overs which is getting alarming for Multan Sultans. It is their second consecutive and third loss in the PSL 8. Lahore Qalandars won the toss and opted to bat first. Shaheen is making this specific decision again and again in this season of the Pakistan Super League. Qalandars started off a bit off because they lost Fakhar Zaman early. He tried to hit a maximum on the second ball and was wonderfully caught by Usama Mir.
Meanwhile, Mirza Tahir Baig was also not able to bat much and got out after a brief inning of 17 runs from 11 balls. Additionally, it was Abdullah Shafique and Sam Billings who held the match for Lahore Qalandars. Abdullah Shafique got the momentum back towards Qalandars and played an impressive inning of 38 runs off 35 balls.
Similarly, Sam Billings hit with approximately the same strike rate as Abdullah Shafique. His inning had a good fifty with 6 fours and 2 sixes. The partnership between Shafique and Billings got Lahore Qalandars to cross 100 runs.
After the dismissal of Shafique, Sikandar Raza played superbly in Qalandars’ last match against Quetta Gladiators. Sikandar came in and started to hit but he also got out early by the well-talented Ihasanullah of Multan Sultans.
David Wiese was not out at the end of Lahore Qalandars with 15 runs from 12 balls. Later on, Hussain Talat and Shaheen Shah Afridi contributed a few runs to their team. Shaheen and Haris Rauf got dismissed by Abbas Afridi in the last two balls. This is how the team got out in 20 overs against Multan Sultans.
